QuestionHi Keith,
I don抰 know if this is out of your field or not, but we have a pine tree in the yard. We live in USA-MA and when seasons change from warm to cold we always have a lot of pine cones to pick up in the yard. This year we have not one pine cone. Is there something wrong with the tree? Is this a sign for something?
Thank you,
Randy

AnswerHi Randy,
Sorry for the delayed response. My wife had a baby on Monday.
It's not terribly uncommon for pine cones to not drop for one season.
Trees can react to changes in wind, heat, cold, moisture levels,ph,
fertilization, etc. However, I would never hesitate to have a certified
arborist look at the tree to inspect it for any pests or insects that
may not be visible to the untrained eye. Sometimes a tree can have
pests where the symptoms are not noticeable in the foliage. Another good
source for detailed horticultural questions is your local cooperative extensions
and your state has a Professional landscape Association. Here is

Kind Regards,
