Questioni was just wondering if anyone has a chart for creosote,by wood type ? i know softwood has much more ,just wondered if anybody had "tested"this for the hardwoods ? thank you p.hall
AnswerIt is not a function of the type of wood but creosote buildup comes form unseasoned wood burning. This unseasoned wood contains more water and this mixes with the smoke causing the creosote. Conifers have more resin when they are green but are fine when dry. Here is a web link to more information of creosote and wood species. http://www.mastersweep.com/wood.htm
