regrowth after thinning

Question
We have family land that is mostly in a creek bottom.  It was thinned out in the early 1990's.  When should it be ready for thinning again?

Answer
This question has too many variables to answer without looking at the land--what species are growing there, how much was cut in 1990's, the rate of growth of the tree left etc. I would suggest that you call the Texas Forest Service (state agency) and ask one of their Foresters to assist you. Depending on the size you may need to hire a consultant Forester to give you advice, The State Forester can help you decide and if needed give a list of good Consultant Foresters in your area. Check the local phone book for their number. OR here is their web contact page.
