QuestionMO HAS HAD 3 WEEKS OF 100 DEGREES, AND I JUST NOTICED MY RED MAPLE OF 16 YEARS HAS DRY CRISPY LEAVES. iF I WATER NOW, WILL IT COME BACK?
AnswerHardwood trees like maples have the capability to leaf out after they drop their leaves. I would water with 1 inch of water--place a pan under the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop. Do this every third day for a couple of weeks unless you get a good rain. After this time water once a week. This should stimulate the tree to put on leaves again.
