Dead pin oak

Question
We had our 63 yr. Old pin oak trimmed last summer And now it appears to be dead.  Initially after the trimming, it lost all leaves, just as if it was the Fall.  This  spring it appeared to have some new sprouts and afew branches with leaves, however those have now all turned brown and died. Is there any hope? Could this be the fault of the trimming company?

Answer
IF you have no green foliage the tree is dead. Did the trimming kill it--it depends on when it was pruned(time of year) an the extent of the pruning. Hardwood tree should be pruned in the winter and the terminal (top) should not be cut off. A light pruning would not have caused the problem but a heavy cutting back of most of the branches and top can cause the tree to die. Without a picture this is about the best I can do.
