Question
Cedar Borers
I have about 2 acres of cedars w/ borers. I know I need something like a Merit systemic treatment but for such a large area drenching or injection is not practical or affordable. Is there a granular product I can use in my Scott 2000 spreader or scatter by hand to treat large areas?
AnswerThere are granular Merit type insecticides that should work. One of these is Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Systemic Insect Granular 2.5%
Apply Tree and Shrub Systemic Insect Granules to soil around trees and shrubs. translocates upward protecting the entire plant from insect pests. Works best prior to pest infestation.
I think Bayer also has a granular. Check with your local garden type store for these products.
