QuestionI planted a yellow Tabubia last year after blooming season and this year it lost all of it leaves due to freeze but came back with full leaves but no blooms. Why?
AnswerUsually the flowers will bud out with the leaves or a little before the leaves. The freeze killed the flower buds and and the leaf buds and the tree responded by budding out leaves which is normal fro hardwood type tree species. Tabublu grow in warmer climates due to their not doing well with cold temperatures. Origin: Central and South America and the West Indies in the US it will grow in Zones: 9 - 12 -- hardy to Orlando and Tampa Area in Florida
The tree if it leafs out full it should put on flower buds for next spring assuming another freeze does not occur.
