QuestionAfter applying Roundup to the stump and any sprouts how long should I wait before planting another tree in the same spot? A much hardier tree of course.
Thanks,
Mike
AnswerYou actually can plant right away as long as the herbicide has dried. Roundup is used to control weeds under shrubs. Roundup is absorbed by the living cells (leaves mainly but on a stump the cambium layer) so it can be sprayed around shrubs as long as it does not get on the foliage. It does not get into the soil so it has no residue to harm any plants planted after the Roundup is sprayed and has dried.
