QuestionI have two Linden trees 20ft apart, one has grown very nicely while the other has not had any new growth since the year we planted them, in the summer the tree is not very full but shows no sign of disease, the growth spert just has not happened. Trees where planted 5 years ago.
AnswerIt could be root bound if the soil is heavy clay. It may just need a little spark to get it going. I would try fertilizing the tree with 10-10-10 fertilizer at the rate of 1 lb of fertilizer per inch of trunk diameter scattered around the tree and watered in good. Apply just before a rain storm and you will not have to water. This will increase the root system growth and in turn the foliage production.
