Questionhello i recently had to cut a live oak tree, after cutting it, small "trees" seem to be springing up in the yard where the main roots of the tree was, how can i get rid of this "little trees" your help will be greaty appreciated. Humberto.
AnswerTake a cloth or sponge and wet them with a herbicide called Roundup. This herbicide will kill any green plant and will be absorbed by the leaves and move into the root system killing the roots. The reason to wipe the leaves id the Roundup will also kill grass and if sprayed will kill any green plant it touches. I would wear plastic gloves when you apply the Roundup--the herbicide will not harm you but the smell will linger on your skin. IF there is no green grass etc.. under the sprouts you can spray the sprouts with Roundup.
