QuestionMy fruitless mulberry has been damaged by beavers. How can I save it.
AnswerAs long as the bark all the way around the trunk has not been chewed off the tree will survive. I would remove the loose bark --this will speed up the healing process. Then you will need to prevent further beaver damage. You can take screen wire and wrap it around the trunk up about 3 feet making a fence and this will protect the tree from future animal damage.
