QuestionI have about 15 to 20 pine tree sapling that i planted in my yard. i live in Michigan. so I'm gonna guess my zone a 5. anyway these little trees which are no more than 5 inches tall have turned brown. it is getting very close to winter and i was thinking its cause of the fall and they are turning brown or are brown. will they turn green again come spring time or are these baby pines dead?
AnswerJoey, Unfortunately you will need to wait until spring to find out. Pine trees are evergreen but they may have experienced stress from a hot summer or from transplanting. I would wait until spring to gat rid of them, maybe May or so.
