Questiondoes it make a differance what way the acorn is facing when planted like horizontaly, verticaly?
and I read in once of your anwsers to another question that that best time to plant the acorn is in April but would the acorn grow good if i planted it in a pot inside my house? and would the acorn get a jump start on growing if the shel is slightly cracked?
AnswerMitchell, As far as I know I don't think it matters what direction the acorn is placed but I always plant the horizontally just to be safe. I would plant the acorns now in the fall because they need a cold period to germinate. I definitely would not start inside because like I said before they need cold stratification to become viable. Last but not least I would only plant acorns that are not cracked. Your biggest problem will be squirrels and moles, you may need to secure a wire cage over the planting site to keep out hungry critters. Good Luck!
