QuestionCan you eat the fruit from a black knot infected plum tree? My tree is laden with fruit for the first time since I planted them 7 years ago. The plums are clean and perfect looking. But I am not sure I can eat them?? I did purchase a treatment for the black knot and plan on trimming this fall and applying it next spring as recommended.
AnswerYes it does not effect the fruit so enjoy the fruit.
Tree under stress usually produce more fruit and the black knot can add stress to a trees health. Sounds like you already know about controls but here is a web link on information on black knot and the controls.
