QuestionNow 10 years old, nearly 15' high,straight as can be but is spindly with 6-8 in. between what looks to be healthy branches. In between are short, stunted, dead branches. I suspect that other than care when planted, it has had no real attention. Located in sunny area, not close to other trees that seem to be growing well. When visiting at the cottage in E. Ontario I was sorry that the tree carefully selected in memory of my brother was in such sad condition. Sorry I do not have a photo, realize that I may not have be giving enough info yet, any suggestions would be appreciated.
AnswerI would try fertilizing the tree with 10-10-10 fertilizer at the rate OF 1 LB per inch of trunk diameter scattered around the tree and watered in good. Apply just before a rain storm and you will not have to water. This should increase the overall health of the tree.
