Questionwhat can i do i put to fertilized steaks around my willow and its leaf growth stop just as it was starting. The limbs are still green although a few have some dark areas. I think i over fertilized the tree
AnswerIf you can find the stakes pull them out. Fertilizer stakes have a tendency to concentrate the fertilizer and burn the roots that come in contact with the stakes. If you can not get the stakes out I would water the tree with 1 inch of water --place a pan under the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop. Do this every third day for about a month then once week for a month unless it rains. This should dissolve the stakes and disperse the fertilizer.
