QuestionI have an oak tree, 40+ feet growing 4 ft from the front corner of our home.
In the last 8 months our wood floors in that corner of the house have been turning black and buckling in scattered areas. The problem has been slow but is getting worse and areal concern.
Could this be roots from the tree?
What is a ballpark repair cost?
AnswerI do not think the tree has anything to do with the floor--the tree has been there a long time and it would have shown up earlier and this would be a slow process not just in the last 8 months. I would call a foundation company and have them take a look. One that is here is Olshan Here is their web link and you can see if they are in your area also. I do not know costs on this. http://www.olshanfoundation.com/
