QuestionThis summer we had re-landscaped our yard after the city came in installing city sewage lines through our front yard.. After this was all done we decided to plant some trees in the front yard. We planted an Eastern Red Bud and a Weeping Willow about 30 feet apart. Down the middle of that runs the sewage line.. Will this cause us any problems in the future? If so, what would be the best trees to plant in this situation.. Our front lawn is a barren 40 x 50 lot... Thank you..
AnswerNo you should not have any problem with the sewer lines and the roots. Sewer lines are sealed and there is no water that seeps out so the roots can not get into the pipe. Older clay sewer lines sometimes were not sealed and roots could and did get in the pipes. But with the new pipes this is now a concern with sewer lines.
