QuestionIf I remove the spent blooms from my white crape myrtle tree, will I get new blooms for the remainder of the summer?
AnswerIf you cut off the newly forming seedheads then the plant will often bloom again. You just need to trim off the seedheads not whole branches. If your plant is very large and tall you will need some extention loppers and possibly a ladder. I have even had some varieties to bloom three times in one year by cutting off the old seedheads.
Crept myrtle blooms on new growth so removing the flower heads should encourage new blooming.ol
