QuestionWe have a 6 ft weeping pussy willow that has always been bountiful and healthy, all the sudden it is getting brown clusters of dead leaves and we are finding several other leaves that look like they have lots of bite marks on them. We are worried that this is going to spread throughout the whole tree. Please help us, can it be treated??

AnswerI would spray the foliage with an insecticide called Orthene this will kill any insect that is feeding on the foliage. Also water with 1 inch of water per week if it does not rain --place a pan under the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop. Willows need more water than most trees. Check with your local nursery fro this product.
