Question
In the Low Coluntry of South Carolina I have two bald cypress trees between my house and the next house (20 feet from house to trees). The knees are springing up wildly between the houses. Is there a simple way to get rid of them without destroying the trees?

I would suggest if only the knees are the problem cut them off level with the ground. A new one may come up at a different place on the root system but that cut one will be gone. Any herbicide that you could spray on the knee would damage the parent tree. So about all that can be done is just keep cutting the knees off as they grow.
