Hi,  I have a neighbor that has a tree that grows a cotton like substance. The tree is at least 20 ft tall.When there is a breeze out side the hole neighbor hood gets covered with what we all agreed was cotton. I have been looking on the Internet to find out if we can do something to prevent this tree covering the street,plant,grass etc. Can you help?

There is a substance that when srayed on the tree just prior to flowering will stop the seed from forming. Florel will reduce seed production (cotton). You will likely have to hire a professional arborist to do the job, but it may be worth it to keep from being buried in cotton every spring.
