Question
I have a small yard and I am looking for a fast-growing tree that I can plant as a privacy screen or hedge. I am leaning towards Cherry Laurel / Privet and I would like it to be as close to a solid-contiguous screen as I can get. I need something wide but not deep (deep in the ground is fine, I mean not deep protruding in to the yard. Thanks
AnswerAlmost any evergreen hedge type plant will work as long as you keep them pruned to the size you want. I would stay away from privet since it has a tendency to spread and become invasive. I would suggest you go to your local nursery and ask them which plant would best suit your area that the plant will be planted in. With pruning you can shape it to the size you want.
