Flowering Bradford Pear

Question
I have a Bradford Pear tree(about 10 years old)  This is my first pear tree---it blooms very early in the sping (this year the blooms already gone) the blooms that do come are very sparse and the tree seems to be lacking something to make the blooms fuller and last longer but I don't know what to do to make that happen...As you can probably tell I am a real novice about Bradford Trees. The tree is very full of green leaves but few pretty blooms

Answer
Bradfords will bloom once a year just before the new leaves bud out. To increase the blooming for next year I would fertilize the tree with 10-10-10 fertilizer at the rate of 1 lb per inch of trunk diameter scattered around the tree and watered in good. Apply the fertilizer just before a rain event and you do not have to water. fertilize now and again in late summer and you should see an improvement in the blooms next spring.
