Question
Can you recommend the best oak tree for me to plant? Which one doesn't rot on the inside? I can plant it away from my house as I don't want it to grow limbs over my house. I live on a small hill sandy in central Fl. I'm just not sure what all the different kinds of oaks there are.

I would suggest you call the local county Forester of the Florida Div. of Forestry and ask them what would be the best tree for your site conditions. Off hand I would think live oak , laurel oak or shumard oak would be good. Here is the contact page for the Florida web site.
