QuestionI own a cabin at a lake. We are surrounded by Spruce trees. I have noticed that they have spruce bud worm and I was wondering if there was anything systemic that I could use on them as we cannot spray as we are to close to the water. Thanks for any help you may be able to give me.
AnswerNo I do not know of an insecticide for spruce bud worm that is not sprayed on the foliage. Bt can be used near water but needs to be sprayed on young budworms since the caterpillar needs to eat the Bt to be killed. I would think Bayer Advanced Tree & Shrub Insect Control would work but I could not find spruce budworm listed on the label.
