QuestionI live in SE Mich. I had a local nursery plant a maple tree last Sept. The color of the leaves this spring and summer have not turned green, they are reddish and look like fall color but no leaves have dropped. It seems to be healthy. When I purchased the tree the leaves were green.
Thank you.
AnswerNeed to find out what type of maple you have--some do have red or off color foliage not green. Example:
Japanese red maple trees (Acer palmatum 慉tropurpureum?spp.) display red-colored leaves all summer that get brighter in fall, making them spectacular fall foliage specimen trees.
I would call the nursery where you bought it and find out what you have. If it looks healthy and the leaves are not falling off I would say just enjoy the tree.
