QuestionHi,
We have 3 Plum trees about 12 years old. Two of these are infected with wide spread aphids. The 3rd tree appears to have contacted aphids, but to a much lesser extent. Please advice as to how these can be treated?
Thanks
AnswerThe aphids can be controlled with an insecticide called malathion
. It is safe to use on fruit trees. Just wash the fruit before eating. It may take several application about 7-10 days apart to rid the tree of the aphids. This is a contact insecticide so all the foliage on both sides need to be sprayed in order to wet all the aphids.
