QuestionHi, I'm in NJ. The tree here has caterpillars all over it
I don't know what kind or how to be rid of them.
Thanks,
Katie
AnswerSpray the foliage with an insecticide called Bt. This insecticide will kill all caterpillar type insects that feed on foliage. It is a safe product just make sure you spray all the leaves. The caterpillar will have ti eat the leaf with the insecticide for the Bt to work. There are other insecticides called contact insecticides that will kill the caterpillar when they are sprayed. Either will work. Other insecticides include carbaryl, methoxychlor, and malathion.
