QuestionWe have two gigantic blue spruce in our backyard. Recently, instead of one point at the top, they have started to grow two points at the top of the tree. I think I remember someone telling me that this isn't good for the tree. Is that true and is there something I need to do? The trees are both about 20 feet tall.
Thanks!
AnswerThis is not a problem. IF this fork were near the base of a young tree this could be a problem with it possibly breaking off when it get older. But with a tree this size a fork in the top will not matter. What more then likely will happen is one of the forks will become the top and the other will be a side branch. Do not worry about this the tree is OK.
