QuestionWe have several rose of sharon trees in our yard. They throw off seedlings which take hold in the flower beds and grassy areas. Is there something we can put on the mulch to stop them from sprouting in our flower beds. They are easy to pull out (all summer) but there are thousands of them. HELP
AnswerThey can be sprayed with a herbicide called Roundup. Roundup will kill any green plant so make sure you spray on a calm day and do not get the spray on any plant not wanting killed. The herbicide will be taken up by the plant and sent to the roots and will kill the roots system of the plant. Check with your local nursery for Roundup.
