hello jim, 2 weeks ago i purchased a 4ft acer with red leaves and already the leaves are going brown and shriveling up,i watered it every third day to start then the last 3 days since its been going brown,it's in a large pot and gets about 5 hours of sun a day,what am i doing wrong.thanks

Sounds like you are over watering it. In a pot just water when the soil is dry in the first couple of inches. Over watering is as bad for the plant as too little water. Stop the watering until the top of the soil dries, then water only as needed when the top 2 inches of the soil is dry.
