Questionwe have a beautiful old oak tree in our front yard and we do not want to lose it!!! Some of the branches are dying and the leaves are starting to look unhealthy. AnswerI would fertilize it with 10-10-10- fertilizer at the rate of 1 lb per inch of diameter scattered around the tree and watered in good. This will be quite a lot since the tree is large so I would use half now and again in a couple of weeks put the other half out watering in good both times. Do this agin in the fall. Make sure you do not use a product called Weed and Feed on the lawn near the tree. This Product contains a herbicide and will kill the tree.
