QuestionI bought a blue carpet juniper recentlt. It is more like a tree however, rather than ground cover. It is 2 feet high and about 3 feet wide. It is similar in appearance to a spruce on a stick but weepier. How do I take care of this? I planted it in well draining soil in a sunny area about 2 days ago. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Carl
AnswerThe main thing is water--water once a week with 1 inch of water (place a pan near the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop.) This is called deep watering do not over water once a week is good. Do not fertilize for a year then use a fertilizer for evergreens. Beyond that it is fairly maintenance free at this age. If it starts to grow out of it area at a later age it can be pruned back. But right now just let it grow.
