QuestionHow much fertilize would you use on acorn trees, how soon would you be able to see the results, and when is the best time to fertilize them?
AnswerUse 10-10-10 fertilizer at the rate of 1 lb per diameter of trunk and scatter it around the tree and water in or fertilize just before a rain event. Fertilize now and again in the spring. As far as results the foliage should be greener by the end of the first growing season and if you are referring to acorn production--fertilizing this year will effect the acorn crop the next year from assuming the weather conditions are favorable in the spring (no late frost). Acorn crops are not real good each year but normally about every 3 years there is a good crop. The fertilizer will increase the growth and thus the flowering.
