QuestionI planted this tree about 5 weeks ao and the tree developed
browning on the outer edge of all the leaves.
Is this scourch from not enough water or did the tree get shocked fro its new enviornment.
The tree is about 6 ft and was in a plastic planter when purchased.
Some new leaves have developed but no browning yet.
Thanks
AnswerIt sounds like shock from the planting. A tree should be properly planted by digging the new hole twice the size of the rootball and planting it as deep as the top of the root ball. Fill the hole with good top soil, mulch with not more then 3 inches of mulch and water with 1 inch of water each every third day (place a pan under the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop. OR water by hand until the soil is moist down to 6 inches deep.
This sounds like stress from the planting and lack of water.
