QuestionI have maple trees growing under my front porch and under my house. Some are in areas too difficult to get to with tools. How can I kill these. A tree tech suggested bleach. Thank you.
AnswerGet a herbicide called Roundup and put some on a cloth and wipe the foliage of the seedlings with the roundup. You could use an old mop be throw the mop away when fimished. The leaves will take up the herbicide and transport it to the roots and kill the roots of the seedlings. You can spray the foliage but Roundup will kill any green plant it gets on so if the seedlings are in your lawn the spray will get on the grass and kill it. Wiping the seedlings with the wet cloth with Roundup will keep the herbicide from getting on plants not wanting to be killed.
