QuestionSorry about that. I am wanting to know how can I get rid of Cypress Tree Knees. I live in South Louisiana. I don't know the type of Cypress Tree I have. But, the cypress knees have become a nuisance. I read one of the answers to the question about removing Nevada Cypress trees and the knees.The answer was cutting down the tree and applying Roundup to the stump until the roots and knees die. I was asking if this will work on any type of Cypress Tree. Thanks.
AnswerIf you want to kill the tree yes Roundup will do this . If however you want to kill only the knees then if you spray the Roundup the roots system will take the herbicide up and kill the whole tree. I would suggest if only the knees are the problem cut them off level with the ground. A new one may come up at a different place on the root system but that cut one will be gone.
