QuestionI have what appear to be inch worms that are eacting the leaves to my maple (i believe red maple to be more accurate). There are so many worms eating at the same time it sounds like rain falling on the leaves. The tree is in a suburban location and is about 100 years old. What do i do?
AnswerSpray the foliage with Bt or for a quicker control Orthene. Bt will have to be eaten by the caterpillars and Orthene is a contact insecticide. There are other insecticide that can also be used so check with your local nursery/garden type store and ask for an insecticide for caterpillar on trees.
