QuestionI have a 3 yrs.old holly berry tree and would like to have it removed. I was wondering if it will regrow from cuttings or do the roots still need to be intact? Thankyou
AnswerIt would be best to dig the root ball and keep as many of the roots in tact as possible. A general rule is the size of the root ball should be 12 inches wide for each of trunk diameter and 6 inches deep for each inch of root diameter. (a 2 inch trunk would need a 24 inch wide root ball and 12 inches deep.) Dig the new hole about twice the size of the root ball and fill with good potting soil.
