I live in modoc co. and have two purple robe locus. Can I start some more from the shoots the are coming up from the ground around them? Or by cutting off thier suckers? Thank-you JoAnn

Purple robe locust is a culivar of Black locust. (it is grafted on to the root stock of black locust). Root systems of hardwood trees will sprout and form another tree. But in this case the sprouts are coming from the root system which is a Black locust and any rooting from these will be Black locust not Purple Robe locust.
