Question
My trees on my property and other seem to show this as shown from another site i saw. Is there a way to heal my tree back up to health. SOme branches my father cut down had  dark brown(discoleration from the rest of branch) in the middle of the branches. These trees are growing in upstate new york

If it is sapstreak there is not much that can be done. I would sugest you contact the New York State Forestry agency and ask one of their Foresters or Forest Health staff to come out and check to make sure this is what you have. Here is a web site that gives information on sapatreak:
