QuestionThe cedar (juniper) tree is very common in Austin, Texas. Currently berries are common and eaten by squirrels.
Can humans safely eat those berries? Can they be used in in way in cooking?
Thanks,
Jim
AnswerThe berries were and are used as a herb but I would not use them in cooking. Here are a couple of web sites that discribes their use. http://www.innvista.com/HEALTH/herbs/juniper.htm
