Questionjim,
i hope you can help me...i can not find information about the approximate cost to clear a wooded area on a plat of land i am interested in purchasing. i am not sure if it will cost me money or if i could perhaps make money by having someone come in and buy the lumber...at the end of the day i would like more of the acres cleared...can you help me sort this out or assist me inwhere to find this information? thanks!
AnswerWell I do not have enough information to wisely answer this question. Clearing a "wooded" area could mean anything from brush to 75-100 trees. The location of the area would have a great deal with whether someone "would come in and buy the trees". An area in the country would be more inticising to a logger but one in the city would have too much Liability attached. There would be a vast difference in the amount of work involved. IF you live in the United States, I would suggest you call the local office of your State Forestry Agency and ask one of their Foresters to come out and take a look. This advice is a free service.
