QuestionA month ago,in 90 degree weather, frequent rains
with no other trees in the area dying, a large hickory in our front yard appears to have died. The leaves all truned brown. Any idea what might have happened? Should I wait to the spring to see if it comes back or is it likely dead?
AnswerBill,
Take some leaf samples to your local extension office. They will have the ability to make a pretty good determination of what has happened.
I would wait until spring to see if the tree comes back before doing anything drastic.
Good luck
