Questionhi gary,
there are 3 dwarf cedars growing in the corner of my backyard. don't know what kind they are but they look like emerald green cedars but shorter. they're only 5' to 6' tall and planted over ten years ago. we moved here three years ago and they've only grown a couple inches since then.
could you tell me how difficult it would be to remove these cedars manually? my husband is thinking of doing it himself but i am concerned that after he cuts down the cedars he may discover they have a very deep and wide root system. do you have any idea what would be involved and whether it's a DIY job or best left to pros?
thanks!
AnswerDebra,
It sounds like your husband is adventurous and this job is not a very difficult one and I am assuming that you do not want to plant these somewhere else.
Have him cut them down and dig the roots out. He may have to chop some of the roots but it should not be an overwhelming task. I would rate this on a scale of 5 shovels about 3 shovels.
