QuestionWell, we have determined that one of our 4 cherry trees has been attacked by fruit fly maggots! My question, though, is this: My husband ate a few off the infected tree without close inspection. Therefor, I must assume that he ate a few maggots. Other than damaging his appetite, is this harmful to him?

AnswerNo it will not harm your husband to eat a few insects. There are many cultures that eat insects. We in the Southern U.S. eat wild plums when they are in season and every once in a while you get half a worm in the plum. We just think of it as "added protent"!!
