QuestionI live in central Florida. I would like to grow and olive tree. I know they prefer dry climates but would it be possible to grow one here since the soil is sandy and dries out quickly? Thanks!
AnswerYou should not have any problem-the limiting factor is cold tempertures (below 17 F) and strong winds (the root system is shallow and high winds may blow them over), it would be worth the try if you want an olive tree, Here is a link for Black olives in Florida http://www.floridagardener.com/pom/Bucida.htm
