What is the root span of a hippocastanum tree
which is now approx 35ft tall and also the depth
that the roots will go down?.

Answer
Hippocastanum trees root system spread about the same size as the foliage (40-65 feet). These roots are within the first 12 inches of the surface and will not ususlly cause any problems. The tree also has a good tap root (a root that grows straight down) and the depth will depend on the type of soil the tree is growing in.
