QuestionHi- What should I do (if anything) to the branch or trunk of this magnolia tree after I cut it off.
A large truck broke off this branch and I need to either cut it back from the break point or cut it off at the trunk. I have read ya and na about "tree wound paint" and wanted a knowledgable opinion on what to do.
Thanks so much,
Bruce
AnswerCut the branch off smooth flush with the tree trunk. Start the cut under the branch so when you cut through the branch from the top the branch will not peel some bark off the trunk. After cutting the branch DO Nothing else. The tree will heal better and faster without any kind of wound paint.
